In the first minutes of dawn,
at the edge of the dark night,
Inexplicable dread overtakes her...

a "virus" slipped in;
a failing, narcissistic system;
a divisive ideology,
resurrected from former shadow
minds of tribal hatred,
attempting to invade and isolate
through the power of greed and
against ourselves with its myopic lens,

"other" peoples -

and it enables us to meet others
with an open, clear mind,
without preconceived images
and with no defensive stance

So be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
Anthony de Mello
Observe the wisdom that operates in doves and in flowers and trees and the whole of Nature.

It circulates our blood, digests our food, pumps our hearts,
expands our lungs, immunizes our bodies and heals our wounds
while our conscious minds
are engaged in other matters.
beginning to discover
in so-called primitive peoples who,
like the dove,
are so simple and wise.
with trees and earth and grass
and sky and wind
and rain and sun and flowers
and birds and animals.
How much are you exposed to Nature?
How much do you commune with her,
contemplate her in wonder,
identify with her?
withdrawn from the elements,
it becomes flabby and fragile
because it has been
isolated from its life force.
