Rumi
This Grace would make sense
To those who say it arises
From virtue and merit...
"Because of".
Even my Beloved Baba
Said it was due to past lives
Lived in renunciation
And spiritual disciplines,
Hearing which...
I cried.
For it would not then be Grace,
Would it,
But merely a worthless trinket,
Born of conditionality,
"Because of".
That being so...
It would not be possible,
Even to discard it in a sewer,
For the sewer, feeling itself defiled,
Would hurl it back.

Rumi
Till we see our nothing we cannot understand the value of our Being.

To live authentically is to live in the full awareness of the nothingness of one's self.

Question: Why does not goodness prevail?
Nisargadatta: It does -- in my real world.
In my world even what you call evil is the servant of the good and therefore necessary.
This problem of things good and evil in themselves does not exist in my world.
The needful is good and the needless is evil.
In your world the pleasant is good and the painful is evil.
