The heart knows what is real. It beats in the reality of NOW, and when we think with the heart we are not looking back through the misty corridors of the mind. We ARE in the reality of NOW-----whatever was real, is real, forever real. Whoever is able to come from that still point is free to be a virgin....free to love and be loved, free to come from an inner center of gravity and free to allow others to come from theirs.
I have believed for a long time that in some way the male can bring the female to bloom, helping her to come into full flower from a tightly closed bud. But I have found that this belief is not shared by many feminists, who feel they can “do it on their own”. I also know that for a man to be able to do this, he must be in touch with his own true masculinity....not the usually accepted ‘macho’ type....but true masculinity which is strong enough to recognize the feminine in himself as well.
Withdrawing projections is invariably the most painful task. We fear the realization that we are essentially alone; but where our fear is, there is our task. Projection is a natural process, through which, if we are attentive, e come to recognize our own inner world. Through the withdrawal of projections we come into possession of what Jung calls our “treasures”:
“When you are in the condition of the beginning of life, in an adolescent condition of mind, you are not in possession of the animus...or the anima, in a man’s case....and you have no consciousness of the Self, because they are both projected. You are then....liable to become possessed by somebody who seems to contain these values; you get under the influence of the apparent proprietors of your treasures, and that is of course a sort of magic influence.”
“Now the more you get under that fascination, the more you become immovable....you are in prison, you are utterly unfree. That is why people are afraid of each other.....they fear that somebody could put them into prison. Many people have a tremendous fear of attaching themselves...as if the very soul were threatened......” (Jung)
Such fear may lead people to resign themselves to a life without meaningful relationship; the pain of disappointed expectations is too great. They refuse to risk falling in love “yet again” But individuation cannot occur without relationship. As Jung points out:
“If you can accept that fact of being caught, of course you are imprisoned, but on the other hand you have a chance to come into possession of your treasures. There is no other way; you never will come into possession of your treasures if you keep aloof, if you run about like a wild dog.”
The positive animus manifest in a woman’s creative energy. His radiance is unmistakable. He is the inner beloved and the guide to the Self. Usually he does not appear in dreams until the woman has the ego strength to take responsibility for her own inner gifts.
Intent on containing her psychic energy instead of projecting it, Sarah was able to bring to consciousness her own artistic talent. She made a commitment to what she believed was her gift, and established a loving relationship to her creativity by making space in her life for it.
Receiving the positive animus opens the woman to a new experience of sexuality. Her whole body, the whole world, is eroticized when she transcends the ego boundaries of consciousness.
The feeling function is so mutilated in women that they may betray themselves with no understanding of what they are doing.
What is crucial to a woman may not seem important to her partner, but if she denies her feminine feeling, both may live to regret her self-betrayal.
The same is true for a man. If he habitually ignores his feeling in favor of a rational standpoint, he too is betraying his own soul.
The “mother’s son” for example, so vulnerable to feeling guilty that he is not “better” or “more manly” or “more capable”, thinks automatically of pleasing the women in his life. He may believe that is how he feels, but it is not true feeling. It is thinking contaminated by the mother complex. It is sheer sentimentality, a plea to be loved, and, whether it is answered or not, it breeds resentment because it puts all the power in the hands of the woman.
“As long as an analysis moves on the mental plane nothing happens, you can discuss whatever you please, it makes no difference, but when you strike against something below the surface, then a thought comes up in the form of an experience, and stands before you like an object. Whenever you experience a thing that way, you know instantly that it is a fact.” (Jung)
She (the woman) cannot trust him so long as he is not relating to her out of his feminine receptivity. The man must in day-to-day life be true to his own personal feelings in order to consolidate the transpersonal link to his own inner woman (soul)
Healing depends on listening with the inner ear...stopping the incessant blather, and listening. Fear keeps us chattering....fear that wells up from the past, fear of blurting out what we really fear, fear of future repercussions. It is our very fear of the future that distorts the now that could lead to a different future if we dared to e whole in the present.
A woman who has acquired some psychological insight through working on herself, for example, may become fired with a crusading zeal to bring her man to consciousness. Blind to his reality, she may seduce his soul with her brilliant exposition of projection. But who will then receive HER soul? Why does dialogue suddenly become monologue? Why does his voice become harsher, his eyes wider, his body more rigid? The interaction that might bubble up from the depths is blocked; the relationship is no longer organic. Unless both are coming from their own center of vulnerability, animus talk constellates anima mood and nothing can happen. The channel to the VIRGIN is plugged with wax. Until we relax into the slow rhythms that open the channel to our inner truth, we are simply unable to experience who we are in the situation as it is. Reality is not there; the hand of the Goddess is not in the shit.
The feminine is not interested in abstract theories and logical reason. Feminine wisdom comes out of the marrow of bone, out of the suffering of experience.
If, for the first time, a woman is experiencing her feminine ego well grounded in her own body her husband may be delighted, surprised and shocked by her sexual abandonment. However, opening the body can open a crevice in the heart that become an abyss containing the pain of a lifetime.
Where the mind and heart are tearing apart, thinking with the heart is the only way to transcend the opposites.
How does a woman maintain a daily balance between her love for her animus (her own creative energies) and her sexuality toward the man she loves? Does the pursuit of consciousness widen the abyss between the Eros of a man and the Eros of a woman? Or does consciousness intensify the magnetic poles that ultimately attract each other? Does the mystery of love aide in the recognition of the immensity of our own otherness and the otherness of the beloved?
The answers wait in the chrysalis We cannot force them to emerge, anymore than we can make love happen. But we can listen. We can tune our inner ear to the inner Presence and we can honor our own souls and the souls of those we love, leaving a “clear, unpeopled space” that cherishes the possibility of Being.

The heart knows what is real. It beats in the reality of NOW, and when we think with the heart we are not looking back through the misty corridors of the mind. We ARE in the reality of NOW-----whatever was real, is real, forever real. Whoever is able to come from that still point is free to be a virgin....free to love and be loved, free to come from an inner center of gravity and free to allow others to come from theirs.
I have believed for a long time that in some way the male can bring the female to bloom, helping her to come into full flower from a tightly closed bud. But I have found that this belief is not shared by many feminists, who feel they can “do it on their own”. I also know that for a man to be able to do this, he must be in touch with his own true masculinity....not the usually accepted ‘macho’ type....but true masculinity which is strong enough to recognize the feminine in himself as well.
Withdrawing projections is invariably the most painful task. We fear the realization that we are essentially alone; but where our fear is, there is our task. Projection is a natural process, through which, if we are attentive, e come to recognize our own inner world. Through the withdrawal of projections we come into possession of what Jung calls our “treasures”:
“When you are in the condition of the beginning of life, in an adolescent condition of mind, you are not in possession of the animus...or the anima, in a man’s case....and you have no consciousness of the Self, because they are both projected. You are then....liable to become possessed by somebody who seems to contain these values; you get under the influence of the apparent proprietors of your treasures, and that is of course a sort of magic influence.”
“Now the more you get under that fascination, the more you become immovable....you are in prison, you are utterly unfree. That is why people are afraid of each other.....they fear that somebody could put them into prison. Many people have a tremendous fear of attaching themselves...as if the very soul were threatened......” (Jung)
Such fear may lead people to resign themselves to a life without meaningful relationship; the pain of disappointed expectations is too great. They refuse to risk falling in love “yet again” But individuation cannot occur without relationship. As Jung points out:
“If you can accept that fact of being caught, of course you are imprisoned, but on the other hand you have a chance to come into possession of your treasures. There is no other way; you never will come into possession of your treasures if you keep aloof, if you run about like a wild dog.”
The positive animus manifest in a woman’s creative energy. His radiance is unmistakable. He is the inner beloved and the guide to the Self. Usually he does not appear in dreams until the woman has the ego strength to take responsibility for her own inner gifts.
Intent on containing her psychic energy instead of projecting it, Sarah was able to bring to consciousness her own artistic talent. She made a commitment to what she believed was her gift, and established a loving relationship to her creativity by making space in her life for it.
Receiving the positive animus opens the woman to a new experience of sexuality. Her whole body, the whole world, is eroticized when she transcends the ego boundaries of consciousness.
The feeling function is so mutilated in women that they may betray themselves with no understanding of what they are doing.
What is crucial to a woman may not seem important to her partner, but if she denies her feminine feeling, both may live to regret her self-betrayal.
The same is true for a man. If he habitually ignores his feeling in favor of a rational standpoint, he too is betraying his own soul.
The “mother’s son” for example, so vulnerable to feeling guilty that he is not “better” or “more manly” or “more capable”, thinks automatically of pleasing the women in his life. He may believe that is how he feels, but it is not true feeling. It is thinking contaminated by the mother complex. It is sheer sentimentality, a plea to be loved, and, whether it is answered or not, it breeds resentment because it puts all the power in the hands of the woman.
“As long as an analysis moves on the mental plane nothing happens, you can discuss whatever you please, it makes no difference, but when you strike against something below the surface, then a thought comes up in the form of an experience, and stands before you like an object. Whenever you experience a thing that way, you know instantly that it is a fact.” (Jung)
She (the woman) cannot trust him so long as he is not relating to her out of his feminine receptivity. The man must in day-to-day life be true to his own personal feelings in order to consolidate the transpersonal link to his own inner woman (soul)
Healing depends on listening with the inner ear...stopping the incessant blather, and listening. Fear keeps us chattering....fear that wells up from the past, fear of blurting out what we really fear, fear of future repercussions. It is our very fear of the future that distorts the now that could lead to a different future if we dared to e whole in the present.
A woman who has acquired some psychological insight through working on herself, for example, may become fired with a crusading zeal to bring her man to consciousness. Blind to his reality, she may seduce his soul with her brilliant exposition of projection. But who will then receive HER soul? Why does dialogue suddenly become monologue? Why does his voice become harsher, his eyes wider, his body more rigid? The interaction that might bubble up from the depths is blocked; the relationship is no longer organic. Unless both are coming from their own center of vulnerability, animus talk constellates anima mood and nothing can happen. The channel to the VIRGIN is plugged with wax. Until we relax into the slow rhythms that open the channel to our inner truth, we are simply unable to experience who we are in the situation as it is. Reality is not there; the hand of the Goddess is not in the shit.
The feminine is not interested in abstract theories and logical reason. Feminine wisdom comes out of the marrow of bone, out of the suffering of experience.
If, for the first time, a woman is experiencing her feminine ego well grounded in her own body her husband may be delighted, surprised and shocked by her sexual abandonment. However, opening the body can open a crevice in the heart that become an abyss containing the pain of a lifetime.
Where the mind and heart are tearing apart, thinking with the heart is the only way to transcend the opposites.
How does a woman maintain a daily balance between her love for her animus (her own creative energies) and her sexuality toward the man she loves? Does the pursuit of consciousness widen the abyss between the Eros of a man and the Eros of a woman? Or does consciousness intensify the magnetic poles that ultimately attract each other? Does the mystery of love aide in the recognition of the immensity of our own otherness and the otherness of the beloved?
The answers wait in the chrysalis We cannot force them to emerge, anymore than we can make love happen. But we can listen. We can tune our inner ear to the inner Presence and we can honor our own souls and the souls of those we love, leaving a “clear, unpeopled space” that cherishes the possibility of Being.
