MOVES THRU MOUNTAINS….
FLOWS AROUND BOULDERS
THE ORIGINAL WHISPERER’S SILENCE
falsehood is a waste of time and loss of energy.
Bowl of Saki, February 23, by Hazrat Inayat Khan
Falsehood, whatever its apparent success, has its limitations and its end.
For at every step the false person will feel falseness;
and with every step a person takes towards falsehood,
he will feel his feet growing heavier and heavier
when he encounters the truth,
while those who walk towards the truth
will feel their feet becoming lighter
with every step they take.
Truth is every soul's seeking.
Therefore as soon as the clouds of illusion are scattered,
that which man now begins to see is nothing
but the truth which has been there all the time.
He finds that the truth was never absent;
it was only covered by clouds of illusion.
by making himself more truthful,
he disperses the clouds of falsehood within and without,
and begins to see life as it really is both inwardly and outwardly.
From this time onwards, the meaning of religion becomes clear.
One begins to understand what the great teachers have taught.
Then one becomes tolerant to the various religions.
Nothing seems strange any more.
For now one begins to know the innermost nature of man;
one sees the cause behind every action.

but once the mystic has reached the truth,
all is truth to him;
then everything is a phenomenon of truth,
a picture of truth
. For instance,
a person looking at a picture may distinguish light and shade,
but another instead of speaking of light and shade,
'This is a portrait of so and so,
it is a very good picture, exactly like him.'
Truth is like this;
and so to a mystic the whole of life
is a picture of the divine Beloved.
that time as the rhythm of soul
has an eternal dimension
where everything is gathered and minded.
Here nothing is lost.
This is a great consolation.
The Happenings in your life do not disappear.
Nothing is ever lost or forgotten.
Everything is stored within your soul in the temple of memory.
In a positive sense, aging becomes a time
for visiting the temple of your memory and integrating your life.
Integration is a vital part of coming home to yourself.
Camus said aptly that after one day in the world
you could spend the rest of your life in solitary confinement
and you would still have dimensions of that day’s experience
left to decipher.
Every human heart seeks meaning;
for it is in meaning that our deepest shelter lies.
Meaning is the sister of experience,
and to discern the meaning of what has happened to you
is one of the essential ways of finding your inner belonging
and discovering the sheltering presence of your soul.
to illuminate a small field
for a while and gone my way
and forgotten it. But that was the pearl
of great prize, the one field that had the treasure in it.
I realize now that I must give all that I have
to possess it.
Life is not hurrying
on to a receding future nor hankering after
an imagined past.
It is the turning aside like Moses
to the miracle of the lit bush.
To a brightness
that seems as transitory
as your youth once,
the eternity that awaits you.

Those of us who have come to make regular use of prayer would no more do without it than
we would refuse air, food, or sunshine. And for the same reason. When we refuse air,
light, or food, the body suffers. And when we turn away from meditation and prayer,
we likewise deprive our minds, our emotions, and our intuitions of vitally needed support.
As the body can fail its purpose for lack of nourishment, so can the soul.

Today I pray over the things that I used to drink over.
