If we were standing in your physical shoes, that would be our dominant quest: Entertaining Yourself, pleasing Yourself, connecting with Yourself, being Yourself, enjoying Yourself, loving Yourself.

separate from us, in a heaven to which we may ascend only after death;
but rather as something close at hand, forever, and forever in the inmost of us: "more interior to us," as Thomas Aquinas says, "than we are to ourselves."
Thus the holiness of life is not a kind of attribute
but inherent in the divine nature of the ground,
the divine spirit of man.
